“Bill Bannock Classic and Flinty “ 2019
Promoters and organizations assisting in the derby operation, their agencies and agents are not responsible for death, injury,damage liability, theft or fire on any entries, Each entrant, upon entering the derby, will in effect, be signing a waiver form.
The Bill Bannock Classic will be from 10:30 AM to 2:00 PM April 6th.
“Flinty” hours will be 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM April 7th.
– Should bring CHISEL to open hole.
– Must have a valid MB Fishing license or Treaty Status ID card in possession
– Must have a valid Bill Bannock Classic or “Flinty” entry card to enter the respective derby boundry – this card must be visible
- Must act as true sportsmen – unruly actions will not be tolerated
– Must be in the area of his/her line at all times
– Is responsible for their own catch. (Derbyofficials or a delegate may assist with handling fish). Only that person can enter the fish.
Damaged or dead fish will not be eligible for a prize
Prizes will be awarded based on the length of the fish as measured by tournament officials.
No fish huts, tents, or coverings of any kind are allowed
No vehicles are allowed in fishing area- parking areas are provided
No alcohol ( other than that sold within the derby boundaries) is allowed.
No practice fishing is allowed near either derby site 24 hours prior to either derby.
Manitoba Fishing regulations are in effect
The Bill Bannock Classic Derby and “Flinty” will be restricted to the boundaries determined and marked by the committee.
All species of fish native to Clearwater Lake are allowed in Bill Bannock Classic. All fish native to Athapaskow Lake are eligible for “Flinty”
Only those caught with a barbless hook in the usual manner will be allowed. Fish must be entered immediately, measured &
registered at the hole by a Bill Bannock or “Flinty” Official.
Only fish entered during these times will qualify. No person will be allowed in the fishing area before 09:30 AM unless directed by a derby official.
The Derby Official’s decision shall be final. No other person can be considered as spokesperson for the rules during the derby.
ROTARIANS ARE ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE DERBY. THEY ARE ELIGIBLE FOR ALL PRIZES EXCEPT THE TAGGED FISH (BillBannock only).
THE TAG MUST REMAIN ATTACHED TO THE FISH UNTIL VERIFIED BY ONE OR MORE OFFICIALS.
COMBO DERBY – All fish caught by the same angler will be entered into the Combo Derby. The winners will be determined by the total length. Eg. 100 cm in Bill Bannock plus “0” cm in “Flinty” will be 100 cm total.
All rules have loopholes-it is the intention of the derby organisers to provide an honest sportsmanlike derby. In the interest of good sportsmanship; entrants are reminded that the “spirit of the rule” will prevail in all judgement cases.
EARLY BIRD Ticket Holders ( tickets purchased prior to: Midnight April 1st, 2019)
After April 1st, 2018 a special draw will be held for the holders of Early Bird Tickets for both derbies.
IN THE FLINTY DERBY ONLY: ALL SUPER HOLE WINNERS WILL BE RELEASED ONE HOUR PRIOR TO THE START OF THE DERBY (9:50am ) AND WILL HAVE THE CHOICE OF ANY HOLE, WITH THE EXCEPTION OF MARKED CORPORATE HOLES. Hole choice will be based on a first come basis.
Winners will be posted on the Flinty and BillBannock website and be given the option of refusing the hole, that hole will be given as an option to another winner of the draw.
